Joyce Petty, of Savannah, departed this life on Wednesday, Feb. 16, at the age of 75 years, 8 months and 30 days.
She was born in Piedmont, Missouri, on May 17, 1946, the daughter of the late William Riley Poston and Goldie Mae Dillingham Poston. On June 4, 1962, she was united in marriage to Johnny Petty Sr., who survives.
Joyce had worked as a CNA at Harbert Hills for 17 years and Hardin County Skills as a caregiver for eight years. She loved taking care of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, enjoyed shopping, watching the TV shows – Hometown and Fixer Upper, cooking shows and cooking.
Joyce is survived by her husband of almost 60 years, Johnny Petty Sr. of Savannah; children, Johnny Ray Petty Jr. of Savannah and Victoria Hutcheson and her husband Frank of Jackson, Tennessee; five grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and sisters, Hilda Jones and her husband Dusty of De Motte, Indiana and Eva Quinn of Savannah.
In addition to her parents, Joyce was preceded in death by a daughter, Tammie Mulder; grandchildren, Hollie Templeton and Jonathan Petty; four sisters; and five brothers.
Services were held on Monday, Feb. 21, at 1 p.m., at Shackelford Funeral Directors of Savannah with Danny Hicks officiating. Burial followed in Neill Cemetery at Savannah.
