Dorothy Aletta Tanner, of Savannah, was born on Nov. 30, 1935, in Hayti, Missouri, the daughter of the late James Grady and Helen Jean Price Tanner.
Dorothy attended Love & Truth Church in Savannah. She enjoyed sewing, taking pictures, and spending time with her grandchildren.
Dorothy Aletta Tanner departed this life on Saturday, Feb. 12, in Savannah, at the age of 86 years, 2 months and 13 days.
She is survived by her daughter, Cathy Crotts and her husband Chris of Savannah; grandchildren, Sheena Carlisle and her husband Jay and Christopher “Bubba” Crotts; great-grandchildren, Sam Tanner, Ben White, Ady White, Carson Stricklin, Jaxon Crotts and Gracelyn Crotts; special nephew, Danny Benson of Savannah; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her sisters, Marjorie Ann Tanner, Wanda Sue Benson, Lynda Faye Murchison and Janice “Mickey” Sanford.
Services were held on Wednesday, Feb. 16, at 1 p.m., at Eureka United Methodist Church in Savannah with A.J. Fowler officiating. Burial followed in Savannah Cemetery at Savannah.
