Julius “Doc” Cherry (1-23-22) service 1-29-22

Julius M. “Doc” Cherry, 67, of Savannah, died on Sunday, Jan. 23, in Savannah.
He was born in Savannah, the son of the late Cleophas Lorenza and Mary Myrtle McDaniel Cherry.
Mr. Cherry worked as a cook at Jack’s and was a former boxer and basketball player. He was a member of St. John’s Missionary Baptist Church in Savannah and the Masonic Lodge in Paris, Tennessee.
He is survived by his daughter, Dagen Cherry of Nashville; and brothers, Victor Cherry and Robert Lee Cherry, both of Savannah.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Katie Bell and Stevie Cherry.
Services were held on Saturday, Jan. 29, at Shackelford Funeral Directors of Savannah with Eddie W. Payne officiating.
