The Southwest Human Resource Agency Head Start program is now accepting applications for 3- and 4-year-old children to attend Head Start classes beginning in the fall of 2022.
Head Start serves children the year before they are eligible to attend kindergarten.
Pre-registration for the Hardin County Head Start Centers is Wednesday, Feb. 9 and Friday, Feb. 11, from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m., at SWHRA Community Service Center, 885 Pickwick Road, Savannah.
The Head Start program is designed for pre-school children of low income families who are on or under the poverty guidelines. Head Start provides medical and dental services, nutritional services, family services and educational experiences for the entire family.
Disabled children are eligible to apply to attend Head Start, and there are no fees for services or participation in the program for the children of any families who qualify.
