David Beckham (12-30-21) service 1-4-22

David Beckham, 74, of Savannah, died on Thursday, Dec. 30.
He was born in Hardin County, the son of the late Curtis H. and Tiny V. Wade Beckham.
Before being forced into retirement by strokes Mr. Beckham drove a fuel tanker for Willoughby Oil for 25 years. He hauled fuel from Memphis, on President’s Island, to all of West Tennessee, parts of Middle Tennessee.
He is survived by his daughters, Marlene Beckham of Savannah and Chelle Payne of Jackson, Tennessee; brother, Jim Beckham of Lutts; sister, Martha “Lynn” Turner of Savannah; five grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Curtis Howard Beckham Jr.; and a sister, Mary Elizabeth Beckham.
Services were held on Tuesday, Jan. 4, at Shackelford Funeral Directors of Savannah with Johnny Burns and Ralph Boyles officiating. Burial followed in Mt. Hebron Cemetery at Collinwood.
