JoAnn Martin, 79, of Savannah, died on Saturday, Nov. 20, in Savannah.

She was born in Illinois, the daughter of the late Charlie Jones and Hazel Abbott Kerrigan. She was united in marriage to Homer Wilkerson Martin Jr., who preceded her in death.

Mrs. Martin worked for 15 years at the Washington, Illinois school system as a cafeteria worker. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Selmer.

She is survived by her sister, Shirley Bandeko of East Peoria, Illinois; two nephews, both of Illinois; and a niece of Maryland.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Nancy Entile; and a niece.

Services were held on Wednesday, Nov. 24, at Shackelford Funeral Directors of Savannah with Mark Shoemaker officiating. Burial followed in Milledgeville Cemetery at Milledgeville.
