James Marvin Scott, 80, of Savannah, died on Sunday, Nov. 14.
He was born in Savannah, the son of the late Marvin Frank Scott and Hester Lee Hinton Scott. He was united in marriage to Rebecca “Becky” Piercey, who preceded him in death.
Mr. Scott retired from F.S. Sperry Co. after 21 years, where he was a bricklayer. He was a member of the Bricklayers Union.
He is survived by his children, Mark Scott of Savannah, Darrell Scott of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, Carol Davis and Susan Hennis, both of Chesapeake, Virginia; nine grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; brother, Don Scott of Memphis; and sisters, Danna Porter of Savannah, Patricia Davidson of Florence, Alabama, and Peggy Steele of Savannah.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his sons, Bobby Scott and Billy Scott; a grandson; a great-grandson; and a brother, Bobby Lee Scott.
Services were held on Thursday, Nov. 18, at Shackelford Funeral Directors of Savannah with Scott Stout officiating. Burial followed in Savannah Cemetery at Savannah.
