Leatrice Ann Copous Demery, of Savannah, was born Aug. 20, 1947, in Wayne County, the daughter of the late Raymond Lee and Birdie Nell West Thompson.

Mrs. Demery was a retired factory worker and of Baptist faith. She loved retirement, gardening, attending church and painting ceramics and departed this life on Monday, Nov. 8, at El Reposo Nursing Home, Florence, Alabama at the age of 74 years, 2 months, 19 days.

Survivors, a son, Kevin Copous, wife, Tammy, Parsons, Tennessee; a daughter, Rhonda Short, Iron City, Tennessee; grandchildren, Anthony Blake Short, Stetson Copous, Seth Renfroe, wife, Chrissy and Peyton Pigg; great-grandchildren, Levi Renfroe and Kenley Thacker; sisters, Kathryn Brison, husband, David, Collinwood, and Brenda Faye Allen, Iron City, Tennessee; and nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Demery was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Earl Demery on March 21, 2017.

Services were on Wednesday, Nov. 10, at 3 p.m., at Shackelford Funeral Directors chapel, Collinwood, with Camryn Eaton officiating. Burial was in Memorial Gardens, Collinwood, with Shackelford Funeral Directors, Wayne County assisting the family.
