Kevin Aubrey Lee Plunk, of Savannah, was born Aug. 29, 1985, in Jackson, Tennessee, the son of Ronnie and Doris Plunk.
Kevin was loved by everyone. He was Mama’s baby boy and let everyone know. A collector of Halloween masks, a huge fan of country music including his beloved – Carrie Underwood, and WWE wrestling. He enjoyed watching old cartoons, Perry Mason and scary movies. In the safety of his trapper keeper, he would write letters to his Mama careful to sign each one with his signature – XOXOXO.
At a young age, Kevin was affectionately nicknamed Cannonball by his great uncle, Jerry. Cannonball had many treasures that he kept close: his tool box of colors which allowed him to paint and color many pictures, his tool box of WWE wrestling figures and his backpack that held his Trapper Keeper.
Kevin loved his family especially his two nephews, Cory and Wyatt. They fought and loved like brothers.
Kevin departed this life on Sunday, Sept. 26, in Savannah, at the age of 36 years, 28 days.
He is survived by his parents, Ronnie and Doris Plunk of Savannah; a sister, Marissa Plunk-Everingham and husband Tom of Savannah; a brother, James Keith Plunk and partner David Clark of Savannah; paternal grandmother, Mollie Plunk of Adamsville; nephew, Aubrey Wyatt Plunk of Savannah; aunts and uncles, Dottie DeShazier and husband James, Betty Tarkington, Linda Eliff, Billy Joe Rippy and wife Frieda, Peggy Bakelman and husband Keith, Patricia Roland and husband Dale, Eddie Plunk, Stacey Plunk, John Plunk and Mary Plunk McCullar and husband Ashley; and a host of extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by paternal grandfather, James C. “Bill” Plunk; maternal grandparents, Jimmy James Rippy and Mary Lois Rippy; nephew, Cory Lynn Lockard; uncles, Stevie Plunk, Gary Rippy and Roger Eliff.
Services were held on Thursday, Sept. 30, at 1 p.m., at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Savannah with David Weatherford officiating. Burial followed in Crump Cemetery.
