Sea of Blue, final arrangements announced for slain Hardin County deputy sheriff

Final arrangements and a “Sea of Blue” law enforcement procession have been announced for Hardin County Sheriff’s Department Deputy Matthew Locke.
Thursday, Sept. 30
According to the Sheriff’s Department, the rally point for Thursday’s Sea of Blue is at Love & Truth Church at 440 U.S. 64 in Adamsville starting at 7:30 p.m., with departure 30 minutes later.
The route follows U.S. 64 through Crump into Savannah. The procession will then turn right onto Water Street to pass the Sheriff’s Department and right again onto Pickwick Street. The procession proceeds past Savannah Church of Christ, where Deputy Locke and his family will be located. The route ends at Love & Truth Church in Savannah at 2425 Pickwick St.
The public is invited to attend and witness this event.
Friday, Oct. 1
The funeral procession for Deputy Locke is on Friday between noon and 12:30 p.m., depending on the conclusion of the funeral proceedings.
The route is from Savannah Church of Christ, north on Pickwick Street, turning right on Water Street, then turning left onto Hannah Boulevard. The procession will then pass Savannah Veterans Memorial Park, and onto U.S. 64.
The procession next travels east on U.S. 64 out of Savannah, makes a left onto Rich Road and ends at Mt. Hermon Cemetery.
“The public is encouraged to line the route and pay their respects to our fallen soldier, officer, friend, and hero,” the Sheriff’s Department said.

    Praying for the family and friends and his work family. I had the pleasure of meeting him a couple times and he was the nicest officer. He was truly a hero on this earth and now he is Gods Warrior. He protected here in life and now he will protect from a far. Bless this family and wrap your loving arms around them and comfort them Lord. 😢
