$12,000 up for grabs at BBQ and music festival Friday-Saturday at Green Acres RV Park

Southwest Tennessee Tourism is transforming the sprawling lawn of Green Acres RV Resort into the TN River BBQ Battle & Music Fest on Friday and Saturday, Sept. 24-25.
“It’s free and it’s a two-day celebration of great music, great food and family fun,” said Mary Beth Hopper, Southwest TN Tourism Association executive director.
Beginning Friday afternoon, visitors can enjoy live music by bands that have been rising in popularity at festivals across the area.
Along with being a Kansas City Barbeque Society sanctioned barbecue competition, the TN River BBQ Battle and Music Fest is also a state championship barbecue contest. Over $12,000 is up for grabs in a battle for Grand Champion. The TN River BBQ Battle is a Jack Daniels’ World Championship and American Royal Invitational Qualifier as well.
“Come enjoy two days of great music and the heavenly smells of some of the best barbecue in the country,” said Hopper.
Proceeds from the TN River BBQ Battle and Music Fest will benefit several local non-profits, organizers said.
Green Acres is on Tenn. 128 in Hardin County, about six miles south of Savannah.
