Jr. “Pop” Wilkerson (9-15-21) service 9-25-21
Jr. “Pop” Wilkerson, of Olive Hill, departed this life on Wednesday, Sept. 15, at the age of 73 years, 10 months and 28 days.
He was born in Olive Hill on Oct. 18, 1947, the son of the late James Harold and Blanche McLin Wilkerson. On Oct. 10, 1975, he was united in marriage to Lillie Jolliff, who survives.
Over his lifetime, Jr. had worked for Bruce Stephens Auto Repair, Hassell Oil Company, Danny Emfinger, Mark Franks Sawmill as a mechanic and machine operator. Jr. was also a heavy machine operator and a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 624 in Jackson, Mississippi, and a self-employed mechanic. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and made his own knives.
Jr. is survived by his wife of 46 years, Lillie Wilkerson of Olive Hill; daughters, Sherry Box and her husband Kevin, Pamela Hosea, all of Olive Hill, and Christa Bowles of Greenbrier, Tennessee; son, Nathan Wilkerson and wife Julie of Crescent City, California; grandchildren, Logan Box and wife Rosannah, Dakota Murphy and wife Rhonda, Heather Saint and husband Luke, Justin Murphy and wife Miranda, Breanna Monday, Damian Wilkerson, Lukas Wilkerson, Magnolia Spitzley, Jordan Hosea and Abbie Hosea; 14 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Betty Emfinger of Port Gibson, Mississippi.
Memorial donations may be sent to Magnolia Regional Healthcare Center, 611 Alcorn Drive, Corinth, Mississippi 38834.
Services will be held on Saturday, Sept. 25, at 11 a.m., at Wilkerson Cemetery in Savannah with Kenny McLin officiating. Burial will follow in Wilkerson Cemetery at Savannah.
