Joe Pinson (9-9-21) service 9-15-21
Joe Eldridge Pinson, 83, of Savannah, died on Thursday, Sept. 9, in Savannah.
He was born in Florence, Alabama, the son of the late Frank Eldridge and Nellie Etta Tanner Pinson. He was united in marriage to Carolyn Harville, who survives.
Mr. Pinson served his country in the United States Army National Guard for 22 years. He retired from Aqua Glass in Adamsville.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Pinson of Savannah; sons, Joey Pinson of Crump, Robert Pinson of Corinth, Mississippi, and Steven “Barney” Barnes of Savannah; daughters, Tina Plunkett of Savannah and Pam Shouse of Corinth, Mississippi; 16 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Heather Davis; sisters, Bessie M. Austin, Frances Hill, Catherine Paulk and Carrie Hughes; and brothers, James Pinson and Sammie Pinson.
Services were held on Wednesday, Sept. 15, at Shackelford Funeral Directors of Savannah with Allen Guyer officiating. Burial followed in Mount Hermon Cemetery at Savannah.
