First responders to be recognized

“Remembrance Day of 9-11,” organized by the City of Savannah, takes place Saturday, at the gazebo at Court Square, starting at 8:15 a.m.
“We want to invite everyone to come out in remembrance of the 20th anniversary of 9-11, and to show support to our local first responders who put their lives on the line to keep us safe here in Hardin County,” said Blake Walley, Savannah assistant city manager.
Veterans of Foreign Wars will present the colors. The National Anthem will be sung by DeLaney Timberman, Hardin County Chamber of Commerce executive director.
After a welcome by Savannah Mayor Bob Shutt and county Mayor Kevin Davis, there will be a recognition of first responders.
A moment of silence will be held at 9 a.m., followed by closing prayer and Taps.
Afterward, attendees are invited to visit with local first responders.
