Burnt Church Bluegrass Festival set for Saturday

Some sweet sounds will swell from the annual Burnt Church Bluegrass Festival on Saturday, Sept. 11.
The event is the major fundraiser for the Burnt Church Community Center and it takes place there at noon.
“We invite everyone to come out to the beautiful country setting to enjoy bluegrass music, good food, fun and friendly folks,” said Jane Jerrolds, Burnt Church Community Center treasurer.
From noon until 1 p.m., there will be an open microphone time.
“Come and show your talent,” Jerrolds invited.
Nine scheduled bands start performing at 1 p.m. They include “Southern Sounds,” “Courthouse Pickers,” “Hatchie Bottom Boys,” “Lisa Lambert Band,” “Good Time Grass,” “Rudy Moore & Bluegrass Pals,” “Wayne Jerrolds & Savannah Grass,” “Crosswind,” and “Scottie Baugus and Boone Creek Bluegrass.”
Food is available all day, which includes hamburgers, hot dogs, sandwiches, beans and cornbread, and an assortment of desserts.
Bring your lawn chairs.
“Come early and stay late,” said Jerrolds. “We appreciate all sponsors and visitors. Thanks to the volunteers and supporters who help keep the community center open.”
Volunteers are needed to help with the festival.
