Jimmy “Duck” Goodlow (8-27-21) service 9-4-21

Jimmy “Duck” Goodlow, 67, of Counce, died on Friday, Aug. 27.
He was born in Hardin County, the son of the late Johnny Owen Goodlow and Dora Lee Ross. He was united in marriage to Clara Fay Chappell, who survives.
Mr. Goodlow worked for Brown Shoe company for 10 years and Aqua Glass for 18 years. He was a member of St. John’s Missionary Baptist in Savannah.
In addition to his wife, Clara Fay Goodlow of Counce, he is survived by his children, Anita Chappell of Michie and Greg Chappell of Selmer; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sisters, Mary Gilbert and Helen Ross, both of Savannah, Janice Chappell of Shiloh and Abby Ross of Savannah; brothers, Johnny Goodlow, Terry Ross and Glen Oakley, all of Savannah, Gary Goodlow of Corinth, Mississippi, Ricky Ross of Savannah and Bruce Oakley of Texas; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Cynthia Sprague; and his brother, Kenneth Oakley.
Services were held on Saturday, Sept. 4, at Shackelford Funeral Directors of Savannah with Prentiss Burdine, Ruben Damron and Eddie Payne officiating. Burial followed in Memory Gardens at Savannah.
