Steve “T-Bone” Byrd (8-22-21) service 8-25-21

Steve “T-Bone” Byrd, 67, of Shiloh, died on Sunday, Aug. 22, in Jackson, Tennessee.
He was born in Chicago, Illinois, the son of the late Billy Byrd and Ima Jo Betts Varnell. He was united in marriage to Rebecca Ward, who survives.
Mr. Byrd served his country from 1968-1972 in the United States Army. He worked at Hagy’s Catfish Hotel in Shiloh and as a plant manager at ATCO Products in Palmer, Texas.
He is survived by his wife, Rebecca Byrd of Shiloh; sons, Jody Dewayne Smith of Shiloh and Jeffery Lee Smith of Locust Grove, Georgia; brothers, Joe Wilkins of Crump and Donny Varnell of Barnesville, Georgia; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Billy Byrd; and great-granddaughter.
Services were held on Wednesday, Aug. 25, at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Savannah with Eric Jones officiating. Burial followed in Crump Cemetery.
