Opal Baxter

Opal Hunt Baxter, 69, of Olive Hill, died on Friday, Aug. 6, in Olive Hill.
She was born in Hardin County, the daughter of the late Laden and Lillian Hunt. She was united in marriage to Steve Baxter, who survives.
Mrs. Baxter worked at Southwest Head Start for 16 years as a family case manager.
She is survived by her husband, Steve Baxter of Olive Hill; daughters, Andrea Gray of Savannah, Felicia Chase of Savannah and Alisha Brown of Clifton; sister, Bonnie Braswell of Savannah; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Charles Laden “L.C.” Hunt, Howard Odell Hunt, Hubert Sam Hunt and Bobby Joe Hunt; and sisters, Myrtle Hunt Baxter, Bertha L.V. Harville, and Betty Sue Killough.
Memorial services were held on Wednesday, Aug. 11, at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Savannah with Tracy Love officiating.
