Lee Roosevelt Damron, 74, of Counce, died on Wednesday, Aug. 4.

He was the son of the late Lewis “Buck” Roosevelt Damron and Mary Frances Ray Damron. He was united in marriage to Cora Jean Sevier, who survives.

Mr. Damron was employed by PCA for 45 years. While working at PCA, he also started Damron Trucking Company and served as owner and president until his death. He was a member of Saulter’s Chapel CME Church, Acton, Tennessee, where he served as steward and head trustee.

He is survived by his wife, Cora Jean Damron of Counce; one daughter, Gwen Tall of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; four sisters, Patricia Malone, Martha Honeywood, Denice Guy and Felicia Damron, all of Atlanta; one brother, Donnie Damron of Counce; and a host of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Melvin Damron; and two sisters, Ida Damron and Charlotte Stackens.

Services were held on Saturday, Aug. 7, at Shackelford Funeral Directors of Savannah with Henry Coles and James Agnew officiating. Burial followed in Memory Gardens at Savannah.
