Benny Wayne McClain (7-27-21) service 8-1-21
Benny Wayne McClain, 72, of Savannah, died on Tuesday, July 27.
He was born in Savannah, the son of the late Benny and Gladys Henson McClain.
He was united in marriage to Kathy Elaine Foust. When his wife became disabled, Mr. McClain became her primary caretaker for 17 years until her death.
He served his country in the United States Army for three years. He was employed at Shiloh National Park as a tractor operator and retired after 27 years.
He is survived by his son, Randy McClain of Savannah; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and his sister, Barbara McClain Carpenter of Baytown, Texas.
In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Inez Moore, Mary Elizabeth McClain and Roma Dee McClain; and a brother, Elbert McClain.
Services were held on Sunday, Aug. 1, at Shackelford Funeral Directors of Savannah with Shayne Riley officiating. Burial followed in Graham Cemetery at Savannah.
