Shiloh Park offers ranger-led bike tour of battlefield Saturday

Shiloh National Military Park announced an educational guided bicycle tour is taking place on the battlefield Saturday, June 26.
Led by Ranger Paul Holloway, the bike tour with the theme, “Infantry: Backbone of the Army” focuses on action by infantry units during the fight, the importance those actions played in the overall Civil War battle at Shiloh, and the exploits of several individual infantry units.
Participants should bring their own bikes and meet at the park visitor center parking lot at 10 a.m. The five mile ride over moderate terrain with a few small hills takes about two hours. Bringing water and sunscreen is recommended.
Anyone 16 and under must wear a helmet. Children must be able to ride confidently, without training wheels.
Bike riders can register in advance by calling the park visitor center at 731-689-5696.
