Melissa “Lisa” Moore (6-6-21) service 6-12-21

Melissa Ann “Lisa” Moore was born in Savannah on Nov. 11, 1967, to George Lockard and Patsy Pipes Lockard Pennington.
Lisa departed this life on Sunday, June 6, at 10:56 a.m., in Corinth, Mississippi, surrounded by her children at the age of 53 years, 6 months and 26 days.
She is survived by her children, Jesse Moore and his wife Kerstie of Edwardsburg, Michigan, Ashley Connell and her husband Joshua of Union City, Tennessee, Coty Moore, Toni Brooke Moore and partner Gary Lewis, Steven Moore, Dallas Moore and his wife Heather, all of Savannah; grandchildren, Kasi Brooke, Landon James, Kyla Irene, Jacob David, Izabella Anna Mae, Kevyn Dewayne, Kay Lynn, Damion Lee and Natalie Marie; her mother, Patsy Pennington of Savannah; sisters, Betty Stricklin and Beverly Crowe, both of Savannah; brother, Jimmy Lockard of Savannah; her mother-in-law, Reba Moore, whom she was caregiver for since 2012; sister-in-law, Lora Sipes; and her special canine companion, Little Man.
Lisa was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Morgan Nicole; grandson, Jayden Allen Ray; father, George Alvin Lockard; and stepfather, James Pennington.
Lisa loved her family, her children and grandchildren above all. Her greatest joys in life were spending time with them. Lisa loved her dog, Little Man, her constant companion. She loved spending time with her friends, sharing laughs and enjoying life. Her hobbies included listening to R&B music, spending time outdoors, cooking delicious meals, watching her favorite show the Walking Dead, dancing and online gaming. She loved her online gaming friends. Lisa was an inspiration to many. Lisa always saw the best in people and encouraged them to be the best person they could be. Even when she was suffering, she still made others a priority above herself.
Lisa’s first battle with cancer began in 2012, she won that battle. After 8 years of remission, cancer came again and this battle was much worse. She remained faithful and fought the best that she could, ultimately complications made defeating it impossible and it was time to rest. Lisa left this world pain free surrounded by love.
Services were held on Saturday, June 12, at 3 p.m., at Shackelford Funeral Directors of Savannah in Savannah with Jim Morris officiating. Burial followed in Mt. Hebron Cemetery at Collinwood.
