James Churchwell (5-10-21) service 5-28-21

James Oscar “Jimmy” Churchwell, 87, of Adamsville, died on Monday, May 10.
He was born in Adamsville, the son of the late John Harley and Octavia Harris Churchwell. He was united in marriage to Mildred Gant, who survives.
Mr. Churchwell was self-employed as a farmer and had worked farms for Dr. Jim Thomas and Dr. Jim Yancey. He was a member of Crump Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Mildred Churchwell of Adamsville; son, James Tracy Churchwell of Adamsville; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sisters, Millie Ungien of Memphis and Mary Schumacher of Cape Cod, Massachusetts; and brother, Gene Churchwell of Adamsville.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter; sisters, Faye Stone, Ruby Ford and Ressie Massingham; and brothers, Earl Churchwell and Dan Churchwell.

Services were held on Friday, May 28, at Shackelford Funeral Directors of Savannah with A.J. Fowler, Jamie Sprayberry and Harvey Triplett officiating. Burial followed in Crump Cemetery at Crump.
