Lillie Johnson (5-8-21) service 5-14-21
Lillie Earline Weatherford Johnson was born in Hardin County on May 13, 1927, the daughter of the late Clarence and Edith Beckham Weatherford.
On Feb. 12, 1947, she was united in marriage to Lane Ward Johnson, who preceded his wife in death on May 25, 1994.
Lillie was a homemaker, she loved flowers, her family and friends. She was a wonderful Christian woman and loved her church and church family at Cherry Chapel Church. Lillie gave her life to Jesus at 16. She was a member of Big Ivy Home Demonstration Club for 50 plus years and board member and chair person for Hardin County Farm Bureau.
She departed this life on Saturday, May 8, in Savannah at the age of 93 years, 11 months and 25 days.
Lillie is survived by her daughters, Kathy Elaine Black and her husband John of Jackson, Tennessee, Janice Lynn Turnbow and her husband Donny of Savannah, Rhonda Cherry Duren and her husband Chuck of Savannah and Cindy Kim Tyler of Savannah; grandchildren, Krystal Weir, April Morgan and her husband Ricky, Jonathan Black, Brittany Jones, Chasity Davis, Robert Johnson, Jake Tyler, Brandon Turnbow and Matthew Duren; great-grandchildren, Lane-Adam Hunt, Kyler Weir, Kaden Weir, Katie Lynn Davis, Emma Morgan, Lane Black, Trent Black, Jack Davis, Malachi Johnson, Lillie Black, Rozalyn Johnson, Finley Johnson, Alayna Turnbow, Ingram Jones and Owen Turnbow; and many special nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Dale Malone Johnson; one sister, Imogene Sinclair; and five brothers, Eldridge Weatherford, Linville Weatherford, Johnny Weatherford, Jim Boyd Weatherford, and her twin brother, Willie Earl Weatherford.
Private services were held on Friday, May 14, at 3 p.m., at Cherry Chapel Church in Savannah with Tony Polk officiating. Burial followed in Lane Johnson Family Cemetery at Savannah.
