Hardin County hosting job fair Monday at Pickwick Park

Whether hoping to find a fresh start, a better job, or a new career direction, job seekers may find opportunities at a job fair taking place in Hardin County next week.
Team Hardin County organizations – the Hardin County Chamber of Commerce, Savannah Industrial Development Corporation, and Hardin County Convention and Visitors Bureau – along with Pickwick Landing State Park Lodge, are hosting the Hardin County Job Fest “We’re Hiring” event on Monday, May 17 from 4-7 p.m.. It takes place at the Pickwick Landing State Park Lodge conference center.
“We heard from numerous businesses across the county and have seen the ‘We’re Hiring’ signs in their windows,” said Team Hardin County Director Beth Pippin. “With our tourist season ready to boom for our hospitality businesses, along with the concerns and frustrations from local businesses all creating obstacles and potential pitfalls, we are diligently working to ramp up staffing and offer a hiring event with worker incentives to help our economy.”
Job seekers should bring copies of their resumes. There are opportunities to meet one on one with area employers, register for door prizes, and qualify for hiring incentives, according to organizers.
“Events like the Job Fest, which connect Hardin County’s talented workers with employers looking to hire, are a critical part of our efforts to strengthen our economy and support a strong workforce”, Economic Developer Jennifer Perryman said. “By supporting and co-hosting this job fair, SIDC is helping to build a stronger, more innovative Hardin County.”
“The Hardin County Job Fest will bring together local businesses and our community’s skilled workforce to help businesses grow and positively impact our economic vitality,” said Chamber of Commerce Director DeLaney Timberman.
Timberman said job fairs help local businesses find qualified job seekers in the community, which “creates opportunities for our residents to work close to home.”
She added that the Chamber provides free services, resources, and tools to assist both job seekers and employers with the job search process, hiring and employment needs.
