Shiloh National Military Park seeks volunteers for rescheduled Park Day 2021

UPDATE, APRIL 12 – Last weekend’s event was rained out and is now rescheduled for Saturday, April 17, from 8:30 a.m. to noon. Volunteers should meet in front of the Visitors Center.
ORIGINAL STORY — Shiloh National Military Park is seeking volunteers for a clean-up project on Saturday, April 10.
Sponsored by American Battlefield Trust since 1996, the 2021 Park Day event takes place from 8:30 a.m. to noon. Volunteers should meet in front of the Visitors Center.
“We are cleaning up the sides of the road on Hwy. 22. Safety vests and gloves will be provided,” said Chris Mekow, park ranger.
ABT is providing bottled water for each volunteer.
“We already have 12 people signed up. We’re hoping for around 50,” said Mekow.
ABT sponsors preservation events that cover Civil War, Revolutionary and Battle of 1812 battlefields and historic sites.
