Jimmy “Groovy” Gravett (3-15-21) service 3-18-21

Jimmy “Groovy” Gravett, of Savannah, departed this life on Monday, March 15, at the age of 68 years, 11 months and 2 days.
He was born in Hardin County on April 13, 1952, the son of the late Morris and Vera Frances Gant Gravett. On Dec. 4, 1980, he was united in marriage to Claudia Smith, who survives.
Jimmy was a welder at Savannah Fabricating and a member of New Testament Baptist Church. He loved yardwork and gardening, going shopping, and was an excellent carpenter.
He is survived by his wife, Claudia Gravett; and brother, Jerry Gravett, both of Savannah.
In addition to his parents, Jimmy was preceded in death by his sister, Robbie Spencer.
Services were held on Thursday, March 18, at 1 p.m., at Riverview Baptist Church in Savannah with Jimmy Wallace officiating. Burial followed in Piney Grove Cemetery at Savannah.
