James “Jim” Melhus (2-17-21) service 3-2-21

James “Jim” Melhus, 98, formerly of Savannah, died on Wednesday, Feb. 17, in Cameron Park, California.
Mr. Melhus was a WWII Army Veteran, a proud member of the 101st Airborne 506th Headquarters Co. serving in the European Theater.
He was a member of VFW Post 4606, Savannah.
He is survived by children Michael Melhus and Joan Chincarini, both of California, Steve Melhus of Arizona, formerly of Savannah; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife Valerie in 2003.
A graveside service was held on Tuesday, March 2, at Forest Hill Cemetery, Eau Claire, Michigan. Military Honors were conducted by VFW Post 305.
