HMC receives limited vaccine supply for some older people, teachers
Hardin Medical Center CEO Nick Lewis confirmed a rumor that HMC did receive a limited number of doses of COVID-19 vaccine around noon Wednesday.
Lewis said the Hardin County Health Department and HMC are working together to provide vaccine within the current phases of vaccination in the Tennessee Department of Health Vaccination Plan.
He stressed, however, that “at this time, HMC is not scheduling appointments. HMC is working to assist the Hardin County Health Department to vaccinate an already existing list of individuals over 75 and school teachers.”
Lewis added, “HMC encourages the community to check The Courier website, the HMC website, and HMC social media via Facebook and Twitter pages for weekly updates on vaccine. We ask for your patience and understanding as hospitals and local, regional and state departments of health move forward as rapidly and equitably as possible in the distribution of vaccine. Our common goal is to get as many individuals vaccinated as want to be vaccinated and as soon as possible.”
