Tommy Joe Briley (1-5-21) service 1-8-21
Tommy Joe Briley, 89, of Savannah, died on Tuesday, Jan. 5.
He was born in Cornersville, Tennessee, the son of the late Lester Donald Briley and Ina Pauline Blasingim Briley. He was united in marriage to Betty Jo Higgins, who survives.
Mr. Briley was a carpenter by trade and a member of Nixon First Pentecostal Church.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Briley of Savannah; daughters, Gail Sanders and Vivian Keymon, both of Savannah; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; sisters, Shirley Worley of Savannah, Johnnie Hendon of Memphis, Patty Barham of Savannah and Margie Fowler of Savannah; and brothers, L.D. Briley of Crump, Danny Briley and Maxie Briley, both of Savannah.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Jerry David Briley; and his sisters, Joyce Lequita Briley, Wilma Jean Briley, Reba Nell Clayton, Donna Lou Fouse and Mildred Worley.
Services were held on Friday, Jan. 8, at Nixon First Pentecostal Church in Savannah with John Robinson, Larry Harville and Kendall Keymon officiating. Burial followed in Wesley’s Chapel Church Cemetery at Savannah.
