Derril Turner (1-3-21)

Derril Wayne Turner, 72, of Portales, New Mexico, died on Sunday, Jan. 3, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital, in Jackson, Tennessee.
He was born in Portales, New Mexico, the son of the late David and Lorene Poff Turner.
Mr. Turner had lived all of his life at Portales, New Mexico, where he was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Central Christian Church, and Odd Fellows Club. He had worked for Roosevelt County Electric Company for 38 years as a heavy equipment operator before he became the owner of DT Trucking Company for six years.
He is survived by his daughter Michelle Nickels of Savannah; stepchildren, Billy Moews of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Tom Turner of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, and Jenny Gentry of Bristow, Oklahoma; brothers, James Turner and Orvel Turner, both of Portales, New Mexico; eight grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandchild.
