Martha Hathcote (1-2-21) service 1-9-21

Memorial services for Ms. Martha Venida Simmons Hathcote, 77, are scheduled for 1 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 9, at Saltillo Methodist Church. Pafford Funeral Home of Lexington is in charge of arrangements.
Ms. Hathcote passed away Saturday, Jan. 2, in Jackson.
She was born Nov. 24, 1943, in Madison County to the late George and Martha Elizabeth Barnes Simmons.
She was a restaurant owner and a member and former senior vice president of Ladies Auxiliary with VFW 4728 and a member and former president of Saltillo Ruritan.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Patricia Pruett.
Survivors include her son, David Key (Shellie) of Scottsboro, Alabama; two daughters, Venida Jackson (Eric) and Diana Jernigan (Jimmy) of Saltillo; three brothers, Glenn Simmons of Sardis, Jerry Simmons (Peggy) of Murfreesboro, and Eddie Simmons (Glenda) of Sardis; one sister, Sandra Bingham (Danny) of Reagan; five grandchildren, Joey Price, Brett Jackson (Ashlynn), Jamie Chambers (Chris), Chance Jackson and Kayla Rogers (Tim Drasal); and 12 great-grandchildren.
The family requests all visitors wear a mask and observe social distancing guidelines.
