Wreaths Across America event set for Saturday at Shiloh National Military Park
The 2020 Wreaths Across America event in Hardin County is scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 19, at Shiloh National Military Park.
The event is held annually across the U.S. to “remember, honor and teach” about the historical significance of the nation’s veterans.
Speakers at the local event include Shiloh Park Superintendent Allen Etheridge and Hardin County Veteran Service Officer Nick Stokke.
According to Stokke, this year’s observance will be “drastically different” due to COVID-19 protocols.
All attendees are required to wear a mask and practice social distancing.
Wreaths will be laid on the graves at the National Cemetery following the conclusion of the prepared remarks.
During this year of Covid I would trully enjoy watching Wreaths Across America via ZOOM live or on Facebook Watch. Many of my friends and I are senior citizens and just can’t be present this year. I have a 20 yr old son and 8 yr old granddaughter who would watch it with me. I am doing my best to instill respect for our Veterans , our country and our flag. Therefore, it would be extremely educational also.
Hopefully, someone will take the initiative to make this ceremony honoring our Veterans to be seen by anyone who wants to participate via internet.
Thank You for your consideration.
