Bennie “Jean” Simmons, 79, of Savannah, died on Monday, Nov. 9, in Florence, Alabama.
She was born in Texas, the daughter of the late Henry James and Maxell Evelyn Karnes Simmons.
She was a member of Olivet Pentecostal Church.
She is survived by her sisters, Maxine Evelyn Norris, Billie Sue Ray and Carolyn Ann Mancil; and a host of nieces and nephews.
A graveside service was held on Thursday, Nov. 12, at Hollands Creek Cemetery in Savannah.
