Coronavirus case closes Hardin County Election Commission office

Hardin County Election Commission office door

The Hardin County Election Commission office is currently closed because of the coronavirus.
A sign on the office’s door on the bottom floor of the county courthouse in Savannah states, “Closed Due to COVID.”
An employee at the Election Commission office was diagnosed with COVID-19 on Saturday, and that employee is believed to have had the onset of symptoms – and been possibly contagious – at least as early as Monday, Nov. 2, the day before the election.
The employee told The Courier that other than severe sinus congestion and the loss of taste and smell, they were doing OK as of Monday afternoon.
The employee said that using Tennessee Department of Health contact tracing guidelines, everyone the employee was in contact with has been contacted and is undergoing testing and self-quarantining.
