W.L. Wright (10-25-20) service 10-27-20

W.L. Wright, age 84, of Lawrenceburg, Tennessee, passed away Sunday, Oct. 25, at his residence.
He was a native of Wayne County, retired postmaster, and a member of First Baptist Church of Lawrenceburg. Mr. Wright was involved in The Gideons International, Lawrenceburg Lions Club, Lawrence County Board of Elections and Woodmen of the World. He also served as chairman on the Lawrence County 911 Board. Mr. Wright served his country honorably as a meteorologist in the U.S. Army.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Virtie Balentine Wright; two brothers-in-law, Boyd White and Lawrence White; two sisters-in-law, Edna White and Pauline Newman; and son-in-law, Daryel Shelton.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Wright of Lawrenceburg; one daughter, Carrie Lynn Messer (Blake) of Lawrenceburg; one grandchild, Danielle Hardison (Jared) of Lawrenceburg; one great-grandchild, James Henry Hardison of Lawrenceburg; one brother, Glennis Wright of Florence, Alabama; one sister, Annette Balentine of Florence, Alabama; two sisters-in-law, Leva White of Florence, Alabama and Virginia Hardiman of St. Joseph, Tennessee; two brothers-in-law, Johnny White of Savannah and Carl Newman of Lawrenceburg; and one niece, Pam White of Savannah.
Those serving as pallbearers are Blake Messer, Jared Hardison, Nick Messer, David Brown, Shane Brown and Chad Brown.
Graveside services and interment was conducted at Memory Gardens of Hardin County with full military honors at 2 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 27, with Chris Campbell and Jeff Vanlandingham officiating. Condolences may be sent at www.nealfuneralhome.net.
