J.B.Tilley (10-8-20) service 10-12-20

J.B. Tilley, of Savannah, was born in Savannah on April 8, 1949, the son of the late James and Stella Mae Benson Tilley Burns.
On Nov. 1, 1969, he was united in marriage to Diane Lokey, who survives.
J.B. worked for Williams & Bevis Sawmill for many years. He was a member of the North American Hunting Club. J.B. enjoyed fishing, hunting (all kinds), cooking, camping and gardening. In his spare time he loved riding horses, which included horse and buggy, motorcycles and all terrain vehicles.
J.B. departed this life on Thursday, Oct. 8, in Jackson, Tennessee at the age of 71 years and 6 months.
In addition to his wife of 50 years, Diane of Savannah, he is survived by his children, Belinda Talley, Dina Davis, Linda Tilley and Glenda Short, all of Savannah; grandchildren, Elizabeth Scott, David James Talley, Laura Talley, Jaclyn Shahan, Jasmine Davis, Sabrina Napper, Mallory Irvin, Reane Short, Vera Short, Jewel Carter and Rachel Rutherford; great-grandchild, Boone Scott; and sisters, Wanda Steely and Glona Hollander, both of Savannah, and Frances Tilley of Ranger, Georgia.
J.B. was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Vera Tilley; one son, James Bob Tilley; two sisters, Shirley Qualls and Fannie Mae Tilley; and three brothers, Herby, Hershel and Johnny Tilley.
Services were held on Monday, Oct. 12, at 11 a.m., at Shackelford Funeral Directors of Savannah with Ed Alexander officiating. Burial followed in Lutts Cemetery at Lutts, Tennessee.
