Alene Stanfill (10-5-20) service 10-9-20

Alene Shelby Stanfill, of Savannah, was born in Hardin County on Dec. 11, 1930, the daughter of the late Herman McDaniel and Pearl Jane Austin Shelby.
On Dec. 22, 1962, she was united in marriage to James E. Stanfill, who preceded his wife in death on Nov. 2, 2015.
Alene worked for Brown Shoe Company for 40 years. She attended White’s Creek Freewill Baptist Church and was a member of Big Ivy Home Demonstration Club. Alene loved sewing, cooking, flower gardening and canning. She would check in on her neighbors and give them home grown vegetables.
Alene departed this life on Monday, Oct. 5, in Savannah, at the age of 89 years, 9 months and 24 days.
She is survived by one daughter, Beverly Jerrolds and her husband Rickey of Savannah; and two grandchildren, Kaylie Jerrolds and Tyler Jerrolds.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one brother, James Shelby.
Services were held on Friday, Oct. 9, at 11 a.m., at Shackelford Funeral Directors of Savannah with Charles Linam and Jimmy McGee officiating. Burial followed in Memory Gardens at Savannah.
