Savannah Bluegrass Festival makes music Saturday

The 42nd annual Savannah Bluegrass Festival takes place Saturday, Sept. 26, from 11 a.m. until night.
The free event downtown at Savannah Market features local and area bluegrass musicians, including “Southern Sounds,” “Holt Family,” “Scottie Baugus and Boone Creek,” and “Wayne Jerrolds and Savannah Grass,” all of Savannah, plus “Billy Waggoner and Red Rooster Band” of McNairy County. Other bands hailing from Mississippi, Alabama and Jackson, Tennessee will also take the stage.
A buck dancing contest is set for 5:30 p.m., with prizes awarded for first through fifth place, in multiple age groups.
Attendees should bring lawn chairs.
