Celebrate Independence Day with fireworks at Saltillo, Grand Harbor Marina

The annual July 4 fireworks show at Pickwick Landing State Park is moving to nearby Grand Harbor Marina for the 2020 event due to COVID-19 concerns.
“We are excited to be able to co-host the celebration along with Grand Harbor,” said Hardin County Tourism Director Beth Pippin. “The coronavirus pandemic has turned our events calendar upside-down, so we decided to move forward and find a way for people to safely celebrate the fourth in Pickwick.”
Traditionally, depending on when the fourth falls, Hardin County shoots fireworks at Pickwick Landing State Park on the holiday. Due to COVID-19, the state park has implemented measures which will not allow for the event. Since there’s a longtime history of Pickwick fireworks, and after much discussion, the county and Grand Harbor are to keep the tradition.
Best viewing will be from the water. Boaters and spectators are encouraged to practice safety as a large number of boaters will be on the water over the holiday weekend. The show is set to begin at dark.
Hardin countians can also catch a fireworks show down river in Saltillo at the Saltillo River Landing at 9 p.m. on Saturday, July 4.
