Dorothy Alexander (5-12-20)

Dorothy Ann Alexander, 68, of Savannah, died Tuesday, May 12.
She was born in Clifton, Tennessee, the daughter of the late Coleman McDaniel Jr. and JoAnn Burns Weatherspoon.
Dorothy worked as a nurses aide.
She is survived by her son, Reginald McDaniels of Dallas, Texas; and her daughter, Sesame Fry, of Savannah; her sisters, Sherian Hartnest and Catina Weatherspoon, both of Savannah, Kim Weatherspoon of Martin, Tennessee, Elizabeth McCoy of Tupelo, Mississippi, Kimberly Akinyele, of Nashville, and Anita McDaniel of Flint, Michigan; and her brothers, Stevie Weatherspoon of Savannah, Victor Weatherspoon of Lexington, Tennessee, Galvin Weatherspoon of Memphis, Tennessee, Johnnie McDaniel of Flint, Michigan, Don McDaniel of McKenzie, Tennessee, Tommie Elmore of Lockridge, Florida, and Hezekiah McDaniel of Ft. Worth, Texas.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers, James Edward Burns and James Edward Casey.
Services were held May 19 at 1 p.m. at Shackelford Funeral Directors of Savannah with Bishop Tishie McDaniels,  and Cleophas Cherry officiating. Burial followed in the Memory Gardens at Savannah.
