Russell Simpson (4-14-20)

Russell Simpson, 90, of Savannah, died Tuesday, April 14.
He was born in Dekalb County, Alabama, the son of the late Claude Miller and Linnie Laura Jones Simpson. He was united in marriage to Ora Bessie Jones, who preceded him in death. He later married Sue Blount, who survives.
Mr. Simpson served his country honorably in the U.S. Army. He retired from PCA where he worked from 1961 until 1997 as a crew leader in the shipping department. He was a member of Southside Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon.
In addition to his wife of 24 years, Sue Simpson, of Savannah; he is survived by his son Jeff Simpson of Lexington, Tennessee; his daughter, Donna Wallace, of Savannah; his stepdaughters, Vivki Lieblich of Bethel Springs, Tennessee, and Darla McKellips, of Savannah; six grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren; and his brother, Billy Joe Simpson, of Azel, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his first wife; his sisters, Iris Freeman, and Claudine Moses; and his brother, Ray Simpson.
