Fremon McAsland (4-14-20)

Fremon McAsland, 93, of Savannah, died Tuesday, April 14.
He was born in Hardin County, the son of the late Grover Cleveland and Belle Thacker McAsland. He was united in marriage to Helen Jordan, who preceded him in death.
Mr. McAsland served his country honorably in the U.S. Navy, where he was a Fireman First Class. He served Aug. 12, 1944 until March 7, 1946, serving during World War II. He was also retired plant manager for Angelica Uniform Corporation in Collinwood, Tennessee. He was a member of Mountain View Church of Christ.
He is survived by his children, Linda Woodward, of Paragould, Arkansas, Celia Heavner of Jackson, Tennessee, and Steve McAsland of Savannah; seven grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by his sister, Marie Love.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
