Shiloh National Military Park announced Friday that all restrooms, the main visitor center parking area, and the picnic area will be closed tomorrow until further notice in a continuing effort to support federal, state, and local efforts to slow the spread of the novel coronavirus.

“We feel this is one of those next steps we can take to help reduce the potential for exposure yet keeping the park open for outdoor recreational opportunities” said Acting Superintendent Randy Martin.

Outdoor spaces remain open and accessible to the public in accordance with the latest federal, state, and local health guidance and include Shiloh battlefield, Corinth battlefield, Contraband Camp, National Cemetery, Shiloh Indian Mounds National Historic Landmark, trails, and the tour route.

Visitors are encouraged to park in locations where social distancing can reduce the risk of exposure.
