Paul Janis (3-28-20)

Paul Eugene Janis, 73, of Savannah, died on Saturday, March 28.
He was born in Harvard, Illinois, the son of the late Paul Janis and Adelide Janis Melson. He was united in marriage to Lola Mae McClain, who survives.
Mr. Janis served in the United States Army. Throughout the years, he did many things including working as a licensed electrician, licensed plumber, woodworking and scroll work, welder, small engine repair, and worked for the City of Savannah in the Animal Control Department and Parks Department. He attended First Assembly of God Church in Savannah.
At the end of his life, he was a donor with Tennessee Donor Services of Nashville.
In addition to his wife, Lola Mae McClain Janis of Savannah, he is survived by his stepdaughters, Robbie Tylene Melson Pitts of Huntsville, Alabama, and Sherry Michelle Melson Timm of Poplar Grove, Illinois; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; sisters, Marilyn Janis of Rockford, Illinois, Mary Ellen Reynolds and Debbie Melson, both of Harvard, Illinois; brothers, Peter Thomas Melson of Indiana, Ben Melson of Savannah and David Melson of Rockford, Illinois.
Along with his parents, Paul was preceded in death by a stepson, Melvin Melson and a brother, Johnny Melson.
