Joanne DeShazier (3-20-20)

Joanne Margaret Bennett Short DeShazier, of Savannah, was born in Wyandotte, Michigan on Nov. 30, 1943, the daughter of the late William Ernest and Imogene Parker Bennett.
Joanne was a homemaker and a member of Morris Chapel Baptist Church. She enjoyed playing the guitar and singing gospel music. Joanne loved spending time with her grandchildren.
She departed this life on Friday, March 20, in Savannah, at the age of 76 years, 3 months and 20 days.
Joanne is survived by her children, Mary Ann Purvis of Morris Chapel and Michael Edward Short Jr. and his wife Tommi Marie Short of Adamsville; grandchildren, Keith Brewer, Christopher Wren, and Kamikazi McClain and Michael Darin Schoncheck; great-grandchildren, Sara Brewer, Lucas Brewer, Aiden Brewer and Elijah Brewer; sisters, Cynthia Bennett Caines of Romulus, Michigan, Shirley Bennett Bruce of New Jersey, Nora Bennett Whorley and Joyce Bennett Blankenship, both of River View, Michigan; and brother, William “Johnny” Stanley Bennett of Oklahoma.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Jeanette Bennett Kelley and two brothers, Richard Gerald Bennett and Robert Patrick Bennett.
