Allene Brown (3-12-20) service 3-15-20

Allene Stricklin Brown departed this life on Thursday, March 12, at the age of 93 years, 2 months and 6 days.
She was born in Hardin County on Jan. 6, 1927, the daughter of the late Burt and Beulah Franks Stricklin. On Sept. 12, 1946, she was united in marriage to William F. Brown, who preceded in death on Oct. 23, 1990.
Allene retired from Brown Shoe Company in Savannah and was a member of Abram’s Chapel Methodist Church. She was a volunteer at Park Rest Nursing Home for several years. She enjoyed her flowers and working in her yard.
Allene is survived by her brother, Clifford Stricklin and his wife Ellen of Savannah; nieces, Betty Baugus and Cathy Clement, both of Savannah, and Rita Jackson of Linden, Tennessee; nephews, Steve Stricklin of Florence, Alabama, Gerry Stricklin of Savannah and Chris Stricklin of Nashville; special great niece, Ryleigh Wilder; and a host of extended family.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Allene was preceded in death by her brothers, Charles William Stricklin, Grady Stricklin and Johnny Boyd Stricklin; and a sister, Frances Louise Brown.
Services were held on Sunday, March 15, at 1:30 p.m., at Shackelford Funeral Directors of Savannah with Daniel Holt officiating. Burial followed in Germany Branch Cemetery at Savannah.
