James “Jim” Cherry (3-5-20) service 3-9-20

James “Jim”  L. Cherry, 94, of Counce, died on Thursday, March 5.
He was born in Union City, Tennessee, the son of the late Walter and Mary Grooms Cherry. He was united in marriage to Gayle Browder, who survives.
Mr. Cherry was a member of Crump First Pentecostal Church where he served as deacon and head usher. He had worked as a foreman at Brown Shoe Company in Union City, Tennessee for 16 years and retired from Wurlitzer Company in Corinth, Mississippi, where he was employed 25 years and held the position of production engineer.
He is survived by his wife, Gayle Cherry of Counce; son, Stephen Cherry of Jennings, Louisiana; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Andrew Cherry.
Services were held on Monday, March 9, at Crump First Pentecostal Church in Crump with Gene Hanna officiating. Burial followed in Pisgah Cemetery at Shiloh.
