Roy Ledbetter (1-30-20) service 2-4-20

Roy McDougal Ledbetter, 84, of Lawrenceburg, Tennessee, died on Thursday, Jan. 30, at St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital in Murfreesboro.
He was born in Savannah, son of the late James L. and Agnes McDougal Ledbetter.
Mr. Ledbetter was an active pharmacist for 60 years, he spent 52 years practicing in Florence, Alabama and Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. He was owner of Ledbetter Drug Company in Lawrenceburg since 1973.  Mr. Ledbetter served his country honorably in the Tennessee Army National Guard.
He enjoyed serving the people of Lawrence County and was active in the community. He was a member of First United Methodist Church where he enjoyed ushering and was a member of the Aldersgate Sunday School Class. He was also a member of the Tennessee Pharmacist Association, past member of the Lions Club, and past president of the Evening Lions Club.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Kay Scott Ledbetter; two sons, Scott McDougal Ledbetter of Lebanon, Tennessee and Neal Stewart Ledbetter of Lawrenceburg; one daughter, Jeanie Godbey of Murfreesboro; three grandchildren; one brother, Alex Ledbetter of Waynesboro, Virginia; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Willa Kate Williams and Anna Mary Byram; and four brothers, Joe Neil Ledbetter, Jim Ledbetter, Sidney Ledbetter and Edwin Ledbetter.
Funeral services were conducted at First United Methodist Church on Tuesday, Feb. 4, with Ed Trimmer officiating.  Graveside committal service followed at Savannah Cemetery in Savannah, with full military honors.
Family suggests memorials be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
