John Hackett (2-6-20) service 2-12-20

John R. Hackett, 72, of Savannah, passed peacefully at home on Thursday, Feb. 6, surrounded by family.
He was born in Chicago, Illinois.
He served his country in the U.S. Army and Army Reserves from 1963 to 1997, with an honorable discharge in 1997. He worked in Wisconsin at Gilbert Paper/Fox River and Neenah Paper until he retired and moved to Tennessee in 2008.
He is survived by his wife, Wilma Hackett; children, Renae Conrad (Bruce), James Ruedinger, Tammy Hackett (Dale), Tera Heisler-Hackett (Frank), Rebecca Hackett (Pat); 13 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; siblings, Steve Hackett (Judy), Paul Hackett, Trudy Adkins (Ed), Alice Dunn (Jack); brother-in-law, Gary Reudinger.
He was preceded in death by his father, Delbert Hackett; mother, Edith McKenzie; sister, Dale Schlengie; and brother Larry Hackett.
A memorial service was held at the VFW, 3420 Tenn. 226, Savannah, on Wednesday, Feb. 12, at 3 p.m.
